For Immediate Release

Radio host and home expert Cindy Dole creates a beautiful and functional kitchen, perfect for entertaining

Merillat® Cabinetry teamed up with Home Wizards radio showhost and home and lifestyle expert, Cindy Dole, to remodel her cramped and outdated 1950s-style kitchen into a functional and stylish entertaining space. Dole wanted to open up her kitchen to give it a fresh, modern look and add elements that made it easier to use. By incorporating Merillat cabinetry, Dole was able to create a kitchen that will help keep her organized and make the most of the space.

“I wanted my kitchen to be more fun and easy to use, and Merillat’s cabinetry offers so many options to make that possible,” explains Dole. “The features are designed for the way people live, so I was able to create a kitchen that was exactly what I wanted. My kitchen is now a great space to use that makes me feel like an incredible chef and fabulous hostess.”

“When starting a remodeling project, think through what you hope to gain from the final result and how you will use the space,” said Sarah Reep, director of designer relations and education for Merillat Cabinetry. “Cindy’s ultimate goal was to have a kitchen that was open and stylish, but also functional for entertaining. By defining this goal from the start and working with a professional designer to incorporate smart storage solutions into the space, she was able to update her kitchen with all of the features she was looking for.”

Several elements came together in the kitchen remodel to bring the function and style Dole wanted to achieve. A combination of finishes helps bring a fresh elegance to the space with interest and depth. With the help of her designers and the team at Merillat dealer Kitchen Cabinet Express, Dole selected Merillat’s LaBelle cherry door in Paprika with Ebony glaze for the main cabinetry and the same door style in maple with a light Chiffon finish with Tuscan glaze for the island, peninsula and adjacent laundry room. The hardware used on the cabinetry — designed by a former jewelry maker— brings an impressive style element to the space that Dole describes as “the bling of the kitchen.”

Some of Dole’s favorite cabinetry features in her new kitchen include:

CoreGuard™ Sink Base Cabinet provides easy cleaning and helps prevent damage from spills under the sink

Drawer with Spice Tray Insert allows easy access and organization of spices

Cutting Board Kit within the island makes for easy food prep, and includes a built-in Wood-tiered Cutlery Divider right where you need it most

Dual wastebaskets in a convenient pull-out drawer make cleanup a breeze and support in-house recycling

SoftAction™ Technology Doors and Drawers prevent noisy slamming

Pantry Roll-Out Cabinets provide easy access to stored items

Tilt-Out Sink Tray easily hides sponges and soaps

Lazy Susan creates a convenient storage space and brings functionality to difficult corner storage
